PROMOTING MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AWARENESS

Since 2009, Iron Horse Motorcycle Lawyers has devoted a lot of its time, energy and financial resources to promote motorcycle safety awareness to car drivers; participated in and sponsor many charity rides and rallies across South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina and Maine. We also seek to educate motorcyclists about motorcycle laws, riding safety tips, legal issues unique to motorcycles and how to protect themselves and their families in the event of an accident by properly insuring their motorcycles and cars.

Keeping Riders Safe in South Carolina

Kirk also successfully drafted legislation for a specialty plate in South Carolina to raise awareness of motorcycles and thirty dollars from each plate and renewal goes to the Motorcycle Awareness Alliance for their work in motorcycle safety and awareness campaigns across South Carolina.

South Carolina is one of a few states that do not penalize drivers that cause fatal accidents unless the driver is impaired by drugs or alcohol or driving recklessly. Kirk has drafted legislation for criminal penalties for drivers that negligently cause fatal accidents, such as distracted driving, and is working to get the legislation passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor of South Carolina.
